On Sunday I mentioned the Hebrew word “Khesed” which is translated “steadfast love” in the ESV. This morning I wanted to share with you a verse from one of my favorite hymns, “The Love of God (1917)” by Frederick M. Lehman. In my opinion the third verse of the hymn is the finest ever composed. It is said that it was first penned by a Jewish Rabbi in 1096. A strange caveat to the story is that it was also found written on the wall of a prison room inhabited by an insane man. As I said on Sunday. Our circumstances in life are unpredictable and vacillating at best. Yet the love of God is steadfast toward us.
